An Excerpt: The Forward
Barbara Henike M.D. Psychiatrist My psychiatric practice of 28 years has been an enlightening and often an emotionally intense journey. In spite of its ups and downs I have always felt privileged to sit in the Therapist’s chair. I have had the opportunity to know many individuals who have shown incredible courage, tenacity, fortitude, and humor in the face of struggle and adversity. My patients’ victories are often invisible to others but represent to me a kind of personal heroism that I have come to respect. The author of this incredible memoir is one of those invisible heroes.
