Life Is Like a Line: A Memoir of Moods, Medication, and Mania is Cynthia M. Sabotka's remarkable journey into her life as she struggles with a mood disorder. For many years Cynthia attempted to run from the conflicting emotions she found herself fighting against but you can't run from yourself - you can't out run what's inside of you. For many years she dealt with highs and lows of alternating moods that just kept getting worse with fluctuating levels of intensity, unaware of their cause or direction. After her fathers death with family problems mounting and the stress building up Cynthia embarked upon the journey of self discovery.

She began seeing a psychiatrist and tried numerous different medications to treat her condition known today as bi-polar disease. Even though it took a lot of time to find the proper medications to help her condition Cynthia never gave up and is now living life on the line. Life on the line means no more irrational, unpredictable ups and downs but instead a study and predictable life.

Life Is Like a Line is a well-written and engrossing book. I admire Cynthia's honesty and courage in telling her story and it is my hope it will help others to overcome the stigma attached to suffering from a mood disorder. Life Is Like a Line is a story of triumph and a must read for anyone who suffers from or knows someone who suffers from bi-polar disease.
